Yiannis Toumazis

Yiannis Toumazis (b.1960, Famagusta, Cyprus) studied Civil Engineering at the Metsovion National Polytechnic in Athens, Theatre Design at the Utrecht Fine Arts Academy and Art Theory and Aesthetics at University de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, where he also completed his PhD on the subject of Marcel Duchamp, Androgynous Artist. Since 1994 he is Director of the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre and the Pierides Foundation. His activity includes the curating of over 65 exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad, the publishing of exhibition catalogues and critical texts, and theatre and museographical design. As of 2009 he is Lecturer at the School of Architecture, Fine and Applied Arts at Frederick University, Nicosia.
