Postponed Dates on a Disappearing Coast is a two-day event:
Day 1: Monday, 16 November
Walks and readings in Antoniades Garden and the Zoo
11:30 am- 12:30pm: Antoniades garden –Alaa Khaled performs one of his texts in Arabic and English.
13:00pm-14:30pm: Zoo – Magda Magdy performs a text by Haruki Murakami.
Day 2: Tuesday, 17 November
Walks and readings at Mina al Basal, the Boat Builders Workshop and the Cavafy Museum
11:00 am – 12:00am: Konstantin Kavafis– Mohammed and Ahmed Kassem perform a text by Susan.
12:30am – 13:30pm Mina al basal tour, Port and the History Bridge.
13:30 pm – 14:00pm Al Anfoshy boats workshop- Mariam Boctor performs a text by Rilke.
14:20- 16:30 El Hindy coffee shop:
Roundtable investigating the role of visited locations in the production of the established image of the city of Alexandria within the context of Fine arts education, contemporary art and literature.
16:30- 18:00 Break
18:00- Greek Cultural center- Christodolous perfoming Cavafis in English, and Mahmoud Khaled performing in Arabic, followed by drinks. (Open to all)
Both events start at 10:30am. A minivan will pick up participants from Cecil Hotel: 16, Saad Zagloul Square, Raml Station, Alexandria, and transport them through the duration of the event.
