Denise Robinson

Denise Robinson was born in Australia and is an independent curator, critic and essayist, based in London since 1996. She has a history of work across the Visual arts and Cinema, including, Director of the Australian Centre for Photography, Sydney, Director and programmer of ‘Queer Screen’ International Film festival, Sydney, Head of Artistic Program, Arnolfini, Bristol, UK. She has curated international exhibitions and film screenings, written on and exhibited work including Juan Davila, Eija Liisa Ahtila, Eugenio Dittborn, Susan Hiller, Peter Doig and Udomsak Krisanamos, Matts Leiderstam, Tracey Moffatt. Her essays include, Transitory Tyrants’ (Annotations, INIVA), Susan Hiller in ‘Art and Anthropology’ (Berg), and for ‘Cinema and the Death Drive’ (Ojeblikket) on Pier Paolo Pasolini. She is a regular contributor to Camera Austria, and contributed to Art Press, Contemporary, Flash Art, and Third Text.
